Tent Flooring - The Three Most Important Questions To Ask Before You Rent

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

I am often asked if portable flooring for a rental tent is a worthwhile expense. American Pavilion has installed millions of square feet of portable tent floors for companies such as Wal-Mart, Ford Motor and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and deciding weather to use a floor depends on a number of variables.  The questions below must be answered if an informed decision is to be made.

  1. On what type of surface will the tent be installed?  If the answer is dirt or grass, one should seriously consider some type of portable tent floor so that guests don't have to endure a muddy, wet mess that can certainly ruin an event quickly.  If the surface is concrete or asphalt sometimes a floor may not be needed, but a careful eye should be used to make sure that water run-off doesn't lead directly into the middle of your tent.
  2. How level must the surface be?  Is your event a trade show that would require a level floor for booths and displays, or is it a company picnic lasting only a couple hours?
  3. Will you be using a floor covering such as carpet?  Carpet rarely adheres well directly to surfaces like grass or asphalt.  It can become wrinkled and pull from the surface quite easily if it is not properly stapled and taped.

If you work closely with your tent rental company and let them know exactly what your needs are they should be able to make recommendations that will help ensure a successful event.
